I am on the hunt to find ways to heal my autoimmune disease. I want to share my journey with you and hopefully we can heal together.
In 2017, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease. It is an autoimmune disease which means my immune system turns against my body’s own tissue. Specifically, my immune system attacks my thyroid which leads to hypothyroidism causing my thyroid to not produce enough hormones for my body’s needs.
Like most autoimmune diseases, mine was quite hard to diagnose and still after treatment I find it hard to manage my symptoms. The more I research, the more I find I am not alone. Many people are struggling with an autoimmune disease after exhausting all treatment options.
I have always found that food has a significant impact on the way I feel. Some foods heighten my autoimmune disease symptoms and others heal. I think it is possible to find a balance between food, fitness and medication to improve the way you feel.
